Natural VS Lab Grown Diamond
Introduction
The world has been seeing a number of innovations in the diamond industry. One such innovation is lab-grown diamonds which have become a rage with many buyers. Confusingly, there are two types of diamonds: natural and synthetic.
What are natural diamonds?
Natural diamonds are mined from the earth. They’re cut and polished by hand in a way that has been done for thousands of years, and they have no man-made additives or coatings. Natural diamonds are considered to be more valuable than their lab-grown counterparts because of these factors:
- They’re naturally occurring gems rather than man-made ones that have been created through chemical processes (like synthetic diamonds).
- The natural process used to mine them results in fewer impurities being present within each gemstone making it harder for heat to affect its appearance over time, for example which means it may look better longer before needing treatment or polish work done on it again!
What are lab-grown diamonds?
Lab-grown diamonds are created by irradiating a diamond powder with high-energy X-rays in a process similar to that used to make synthetic rubies. The resulting gemstone is indistinguishable from its natural counterpart, but it’s not exactly the same either: lab grown gems are made by fusing carbon atoms together and then heating them until they fuse together into pure carbon. This results in an incredibly hard, durable material that has never been seen on Earth before!
In contrast, natural diamonds are formed deep inside volcanoes or within geologically active areas like kimberlite pipes or undersea vents – places where conditions make them more likely to form large quantities of carbon crystals that can eventually form into solid rocks called “diamonds.”
How is a lab diamond created?
The first step in creating a lab-grown diamond is to place a seed inside a chamber and subject it to high-energy particles. The diamonds are heated up to 2,000 degrees Celsius while they are bombarded with ions and then cooled down. This process rearranges the carbon atoms within the seed into their new form: a diamond structure.
Are lab-grown diamonds real?
Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds, but they are grown in a laboratory instead of mined from the earth. So what makes them different?
- Chemically, physically and optically identical to mined diamonds.
Lab-grown diamonds have all the properties of natural mined diamonds including colour, clarity and cut. They can also be heat treated to improve their hardness or durability and can be made into jewellery using traditional techniques such as engraving or setting into rings or earrings.
How do you tell the difference between a natural and lab-grown diamond?
As you can see, lab-grown diamonds are just as beautiful as natural diamonds. In fact, they have many advantages over their organic counterparts. One of the most obvious differences between the two types of stones is cost: while a natural diamond can cost thousands of dollars per carat (the weight of a diamond), a lab-grown tungsten carbide (TC) stone only costs 20%-30% more than its counterpart.
Lab grown vs. natural diamonds
- Lab grown diamonds are real diamonds, with the same properties and characteristics as natural diamonds. They’re just grown in a lab rather than mined out of the ground.
- Lab grown diamonds are more environmentally friendly than natural ones because they don’t require mining or processing. They also have higher clarity levels and fewer flaws, which means you can get a better price for your diamond if you buy it from a reputable seller (like us!).
- If you’re worried about how ethical your purchase is going to be, then lab-grown jewellery may be right up your alley! With their lower prices, they’ll allow people with smaller budgets to afford high-quality pieces without sacrificing quality or ethics along the way!
Natural and Lab grown Diamon are the same it depends on the buyer choice.
Lab grown diamond is cheaper than natural diamond.
Lab-grown diamonds have been in existence for more than 30 years and have become one of the most popular choices for jewelry as well as science projects. They are grown under controlled conditions in a laboratory, rather than being mined from the ground or carved out of an already existing rock by nature. This means that lab-grown diamonds can be made using synthetic elements instead of having to rely on what’s available naturally around us which makes them eco friendly since they don’t pollute anymore than any other type of gemstone would if you were going to sell it at your local jeweler’s store!
Conclusion
Lab Grown or Natural Diamond is really a personal Choice! We think that both will have different set of people to cater to and will continue to co-exist. It would be interesting to see what the consumers will prefer to buy in future. Our Job is to make sure you get the right one for your jewellery.
